The steel tank is manufactured through an automated process without any human intervention, with high precision tolerances that are achieved by the use of mechanical equipment that only ELCO has. Internally it is coated by a special high quality porcelain enamel DURO GLASS, which is the result of ELCO's age-long testing. In addition, thanks to the special enamel coating method -using a vacuum process- applied exclusively by ELCO, the tank is fully and homogeneously protected.

Result: The tank is absolutely protected against corrosion

Also, the double magnesium anodes produced by ELCO, with capacity much larger than the usual and double than the one required by the Directive of Conformity, guarantee the protection of the tank against electrolysis.
But on rainy days ELCO SOL-TECH solar water heaters may also function as regular electric water heaters, since their heating element of special specifications guarantees immediate flow of large quantity of hot water as well a very long life expectancy.
On the exterior, its thick HCFC-free, closed-cell, rigid polyurethane foam insulation keeps water hot for a longer period of time.
Finally the new ELCO SOL-TECH solar water heaters may come with separate models of storage tanks with large surface area enamel coated heat exchanger, which connects to the central heating system for low cost hot water even in the winter.
